Even though the South Rim is more popular than the North Rim, I was very impressed by the spectacular views that the North Rim presents. There is a better chance of seeing wild life in the wilderness at the North Rim because of less traffic.

There are 5 main view points along the trail and dozens of spots where the canyon is visible. I'd suggest camping at Locust or North Timp Points, Locust being more popular. There the trail is right next to the rim and so is the camping....More
