Here at Lipan, visitors can get several views of the Colorado River from Grand Canyon's rim. Such views are unique in the Canyon. Look for the rapids (though you won't see the three-story fall the river makes) and the delta which was once farmed.

It is amazing how there are so many layers and the colours of each layer come through depending on the light!

Lipan Point has the widest views of The Colorado River. Take a short walk to your right, and you will feel as if you have the place all to yourself.

We last visited Grand Canyon 10+ years ago. Either we missed Lipan Point last time, or it is a newer viewing point. The interesting features of this point somehow spoke to me in ways other Canyon views did not. Shallow areas, stone/rock that resembled living...More

You can see the Colorado river clearly at this view point. Don't just look down from the fence. If you walk a little bit to the right, there is an area where you can sit on the rock and appreciate the view with less people.

One of several stopping places along the south rim drive. Unless you are in a big hurry or under a time crunch, take the time to stop and get another view of this spectacular wonder of the world.

Came here quite early in the morning - after having seen the sunset at the Grand Canyon village. I think it would have been even better here. Short drive from the rim drive. Worth the detour.

We stayed quite a while at Lipan Point; it was one of my favorite stops. Actually thought the stops along Desert View offered the broadest panorama views even better than at Hermits Rest drive or near historic village. But they are each special in their...More

We started on the north rim and hiked through the canyon and this was by far my favorite view. You can see more of the canyon from one spot than anywhere else including the Colorado River at the bottom of the canyon.

We took a guided bus tour and enjoyed it very much. i recommend going this route as you can focus on the sight seeing and not on the driving and parking.
