Another perspective

Moran Point, Lipan Point and Navajo Point give a similar but different view of the canyon. Be sure to stop at each and check it out.

Though the park was full, we were able to find our own private little spot to view sunset. Icy conditions in winter, so be careful

You cannot make a long walk there but the views are very beautiful. Especially during the sunset. I recommend to stop there.

Beautiful, Beautiful, Beautiful!!! is about all I can say. We stopped a park ranger for another reason and she suggested we stop at this point. She DID NOT lead us astray. This is one of the most spectacular views in the canyon I think. Just Beautiful!!

When retuning to the visitor center from the Desert View Watchtower, be sure to make this stop. It is a great view of the canyon. And, if you are there during migration season, this is a good point to observe birds since this is the closest point to the north rim (8 miles) and hence in the path of migration.

When entering the park from the east, on the south rim, it is the 3rd stop. Of course, the view is great, well worth the stop. Having done this trip, I would recommend that people do enter from the east and drive west unless your travel after leaving the park takes you east.

We found this vista view of the Grand Canyon fascinating. Lipan Point is the shortest distance from the North Rim of the canyon. As such, its an important bird migration path. There is a good information sign regarding the bird migration and the various birds that make the flight. The short flight distance is 8 miles (13 kilometers). There is... More
