This was a bit of a challenge for me being from Florida, but it was still doable. I would not recommend trying it in the afternoon because it gets super crowded. We went at 8 AM on a Sunday and had the trail to ourselves...More

My husband and I took this trail in April. We started around 9am, which was the perfect time; not too hot, and not too cold. We didn't have any issue with the trail (we're not super active normally, but not sedentary either). It took us...More

Very easy gradual hike to the falls. This time of year you do have to start at Rainbow Falls and can walk Roaring Brook Trail or Trillium Gap, I’m happy with dirt and trees. With all the rain the falls were very pretty. Missed the...More

We visited in March 2018 and the road was not open yet so we decided to hike the 2 miles to get to the trail. That was a challenge but worth it. If the road had been open the trail would not been such a...More

This a beautiful hike. The hike up Trillium Gap Trail to Grotto Falls is a pretty gentle grade uphill. There are areas that are uneven with lots of roots. I went during spring break and there was a good bit of snow and ice on...More

I’m not sure I agree with the difficulty scale lol. The road to grotto falls parking lot was closed so we had to park at the bottom which added another 2.8 miles. You can hike up the road to grotto falls parking lot or the...More

It is all uphill, like a mile of uphill hiking. Falls were small...the only cool thing is that you can walk behind the fall.

This is a moderate hike exceeding 500 feet in elevation & all uphill on the way up. It is definitely not an easy hike due to the numerous tree roots & streams to cross. Get a hiking stick as they are invaluable & really help...More

Great morning hike. Got there before too crowded. ( about 10am) Fall colors were gorgeous in early November. It's a somewhat challenging hike with exposed roots, slight uphill, and slippery in some spots. It was very manageable for this 60 yr old though. Several people...More

This was our second hike. We got there about mid morning but the parking lot was full so we went back after lunch. We really enjoyed this hike. We didn’t walk behind the falls though because you have to walk over rocks to get there....More

We hiked a bit and then just found some nice flat rocks to picnic on. I'm not sure if there are picnic tables around. We improvised. There may have been picnic tables in the area off the main road, if I am remembering... More
