Great spot for a picnic. Easy to get to and close to downtown Gatlinburg. Plenty of spots to picnic down by the water.

This is a busy picnic area. You can put your feet in the water and just sit and listen to it for hours.

We had a nice picnic lunch one day while we were visiting Cherokee. It was so peaceful...just the sounds of the creek rushing over the rocks. Really nice there.

Great place to picnic on a river! Huge rocks...cold water! Great for the whole day or just to stop and relax.

We always love chimney tops for the huge rocks and general area. Great picnic spot. Kids love to climb on the rocks.

We enjoyed our picnic lunch at a nice table. Picnic area in between Oconaluftee and Sugarlands Visitor Center. We would hear the river while we were eating. Saw some pretty wildflowers.

We picnic here every time we visit. Very relaxing place to sit back and listen to the sounds of the water and enjoy nature.

Hey Annsims; I'd say roughly 25 miles or so but the speed limit is lower so it may take 45 mins or more to get there. Totally worth it though!
