We knew prior to going here that the pools were closed due to all of the rain that they had been having and it was raining off and on all day when we took the drive. It was a short walk to the gulch and...More

Disappointing for us as it was closed for swimming & $20 entrance free per person which is way too much to look at rock pools! Maybe if we could've swim there it may have been worth the $40 to park and check it out.

The check in ranger let us know right up front that the pools were closed to swimming and there was NO flow at the bottom fall and minimal flow at the top fall. The hike to the banyan tree and bamboo forest was pretty great...More

Ever since my husband and I had been planning a trip to Maui, I had been looking forward to seeing the Seven Sacred Pools. I heard that you can swim there and that the water is supposed to be aerated and luxurious. After seeing all...More

I drove all the way to the seven sacred pools to see the gulch, and it was closed! You can't go down to the pools and the view isn't that great from the side. Long drive past Hana for very poor experience.

Gosh I wish I would've read these reviews. I bought the Road to Hana - App, which was awesome, except not updated. The pools have been closed since January. Sounds like typical government BS. They had a rock fall in January, and closed it indefinitely....More

This trail - a half mile round trip, is listed in all the guide books as a must. It is overrated to say the least. There are many more beautiful falls on the road to Hana. For the non hiker, this might be the trail...More

The Ohe'o Gulch and the Seven Sacred Pools lie on the Hana Road about thirty to forty minutes past the town of Hana. If you are staying in town, take a day to recover from the long, serpentine drive on the Hana Highway and then...More

If you thing your drive to Hana is supposed to stop at Hana, you'll be missing a beautiful place! It's about a 45min drive past Hana, but well worth it. If you can fit all of your "Haleakala" entrances into 3 days you'll save yourself...More

The watering holes/pools were closed when we were there due to recent rains and rock slides but the area was very beautiful and amazing. Something about watching the water drain into the ocean and the ocean meet the water is magical. I would recommend visiting...More

We were camping at the campground so fairly early in the morning. Maybe 10am or so.
