Och'o Gulch is the river/ocean meeting on the coast, in the Haleakala National Park. My friend and I hiked up the Pipiwai Trail first, and then did the small hike to the ocean and the Ohe'o Gulch. It is a very easy trail, we did both sides of the loop, the northern one is a tad more challenging for elevation... More

The view and hike are fun. But the park service closed the pools to install new camera equipment. This was a bummer! We brought shoes and bathing suits for a dip in the pools.

I was so excited to get to swim in the pools today but when we walked the loop to the gate entrance it was locked due to flood warnings! We were very disappointed but the coastal view around the corner was very pretty but I wish they would give a heads up since the drive to get there is so... More

It was beautiful but there were alot of beautiful water falls on the RTH. You can really only swim in 3 of the pools and we found the water to have a bit of a stagnate smell to it. We swam in alot nicer places along the RTH We stayed in Hana and did Ohe'o Gultch and Pipiwi trail in... More

I think it is a must see spot on the road to Hana! The pools are easily accessible after a short 15 min walk from the parking lot. The water was not perfect clear but you can still go for a swim. I would recommend water shoes since some parts are slippery.

if you've watched Lord of the Rings, and you looked at Rivendell and dreamed of seeing such a beautiful place in person ... well here it is. This is an easy hike and a short drive from Hana. It is perhaps the most beautiful place I visited - absolutely worth the trip. Do not miss this attraction. Bring your bathing... More

There are so many things to see along the Hana Highway that it can be overwhelming. This is one of the spots that you just can't miss seeing! My best advice is to get here early! We were fortunate enough to have stayed in Hana the night before. We left Hana after breakfast and headed to Ohe'o Gulch. How nice... More

A must see spot on the road to Hana! The pools weren't as full as they have been but they were nonetheless beautiful and a great place to cool off. It is a short 15 min walk from the parking lot. The water was slightly murky but you can still go for a swim. I would recommend water shoes since... More

This is a spectacular site and can get very crowded. But you are in Maui, hanging around water falls, jumping into pools fed by waterfalls, and it's basically free. How much better can life get. Share the site with your fellow tourists. Paradise

Ohe'o Gulch or "The Seven Sacred Pools" was an elusive sight to finally discover on The Road to Hana. I had been told that this was the best attraction on the Road to Hana by someone on our flight to Maui. I really had not done a whole lot of research so by the time I arrived there were only...
