You can easily spend a 3-4 hours here and only see the highlights. The lava tubes were impressive, although damp so good footwear is recommended. The various views and look out points were amazing. You feel so small in a place like this. My highlight...More

Excellent visit but road closures in the park avoided going near rim. Overall great visit and lava tube visit gave a good perspective on formations.

Volcano House for lunch, drive to sea arch, Kilauea Iki trail and other shorter hikes, like the site of the 1959 eruption, visitor's center and active crater during day and sunset, steam vents, lava tube hike, and so much else. Don't miss this!

So much to see and learn with lots to do within your individual activity level. If you are in decent shape, some of the longer hikes are like walking across another planet. Nature is cool.

Our first stop was the steam vents, then onto the museum and a crater with steam vents. We left and went to the harden lava fields and lava tubes which were great!

Which hike? Definitely ok to hike some of them on your own. I was with a friend this time, but I would go back on my own. There are lots of people around if you want the security of knowing someone is available to help. I... More
