Joshua Tree is not well known, enough. First tip though - there are two northeast entrances. Avoid the one closest to Palm Springs as the crowds hit there and the rangers do not process the crush well. Go one entrance further or enter from the south. The park is loaded with amazing rock formations, many climbable. the Joshua Tree "forests"... More

Joshua Tree Park is so beautiful and rugged, with it's expansive landscape and hills of stacked boulders, dotted with Joshua trees and other desert vegetation. You can climb the rounded boulders, go on the numerous trails, or simply drive through stopping at different spots to enjoy this unique park. We found the best rock formations and trees along the Park... More

Plan on taking this in and spending most of a day doing it. We drove ourselves and is easy to do as basically only one main road in that exits on I 10 east of the desert cities. There is a fork most of the way through that will take you back east of the entrance you come in on.... More

Joshua Tree Park is unique. Truly beautiful and unspoiled and hardly another tourist in sight. Words cannot describe it fairly and not even photos do it justice. A must visit !

Never have I seen so many blooms in the desert! Great, relaxing drive through showed us many diverse sites. Friendly rangers gave us some great info to find the best areas.

There is something truly unique about this area. Rugged, rocky landscape dotted with Joshua trees and cholla cactus. Imagine traveling over that terrain years ago!

The Joshua trees are only found in the Mojave desert. The landscape is a wonderful mix of granite "sculptures", sand, desert vegetation and fauna, and beautiful views. The hikes are easy to arduous, something for everyone. Even if all you do is drive through the park, make this part of your trip to Palm Springs area.

A trip to Palm Springs is not complete without a visit to Joshua Tree. Plan to spend a day at the park. We recommend entering via the south Cottonwood Visitors Center entrance off of I-10, then driving through the park and exiting through one of the north entrance/exits and taking route 62 back toward Palm Springs. This way, you will... More

I had been reluctant to go as it is about an hour drive each way, but boy was I glad I did and I would go again. It is a beautiful park. So much to see. Our family enjoyed scrambling on the boulders. It was my 10 year old son's highlight of our week trip in Palm Springs. Great for... More

I really had no expectations but I loved Joshua Tree National Park. I have been to California more times than I remember, but never here. The Cholla Cactus Garden was really interesting, yes it's catuses but beautiful. The Skull Rock was really neat and the scenery and rocks and Joshua trees were so surreal. It seemed like something out of... More
