Walking this short trail is easy. There are several interpretive boards available for reading. It is amazing to see how much the area has changed since the eruptions in 1915. Learn about the geology and study the different rocks and boulders that came from the...More

Nice little walk in the park. Interpretive signs along the trail told us plenty about the last eruption. Easy tread and level trail. Picnic tables and bathrooms located at site.

In a short time, you'll understand what happened when the mountain blew. Some of these concepts were difficult for me to conceptualize, but the interpretive trail made the, very real and understandable. It'll take you 20 minutes to go through the t rail.

One thing that I must say about Lassen n.p. is that it's not well marked. We just happened to stop at this parking area, and found the story about the night the mountain came down. This was it. The place where people lived, so make...More

We really enjoyed this trail. It is super easy and short, but it has so much information by way of signs (even have audio). There are giant boulders that shot out of the volcano long ago, so you can really get a feel for how...More

This is a short, flat and mostly shaded trail with interpretive signs that explain the rocks and the volcanic explosions that brought them to their destination. It's worth the stop.

The trail was at the end of the road from Manzanita lake due to snow plowing still happening. The and the information provided was well worth a visit. Would suggest people travelling with kids to visit this, especially if they enjoy geology and the history...More

This was a nice stop with a good explanation in plain terms about the last eruption and the history of the area. Enjoy the easy hike and the fresh PINE fragrance. It will help give you a better perspective and understanding of the park.

This is a great short stop during your drive through Lassen Volcanic Park. The path is very easy but tells a very interesting and little known story about the eruption that swept through the area and its aftermath. And the view of the volcano from...More

I've rarely see an interpretive trail that speaks to you. The stops on this short half-mile loop talk to you, but also have visuals. Most focus on the geology and the history. The focus is on the erruption of Lassen Peak. Very interesting!
