We find it is always a good idea to check out the VC of parks, as there is a wealth of information in them. This one has a great film about the very recent eruption of this volcano.

The Staff were outstanding. Ranger Volt took the time to show us some really cool hiking areas that some may not ever do. I guess my being dressed in an Army kilt & Boy Scout leaders hat he knew we were prepared for anything. We...More

For winter months this is the spot to find info and gifts. Beautiful building with great exhibit but in winter there is no food services in the park and limited gifts so plan ahead.

Relief maps, trail maps, interesting displays on (what else) vulcanology. They serve espresso, which you will want to power you up the trail.

A convenient place to stop on your way: interpretive exhibits, clean restrooms, books & souvenirs, and a good cafe.

Brief exhibits, snack bar, restrooms, tables with umbrellas outside for those who brought a picnic. Small museum, cool 3D map of the park.

I was happy when I entered there and the NPS staff was very helpful. They answered my questions and they do a great job at doing it. Some even do it for free. So refreshing to see volunteers doing what they love

This is a small but interesting visitor's center. I loved the volcanic rock explanations. Friendly and helpful staff. But, the concession is the worst I've seen in any national park.

We stopped in the Visitors Center to get info for our visit, and found that the road through the park was closed due to overnight snow. The plows were working to get it open. While waiting (about and hour) we viewed the video on the...More
