There was ice on part of the trail, so be careful. The larches put on a spectacular show. Nice to see so many families and younger folks on the trail. They roped off the area to help limit lake access, which is very considerate. Take...More

Great hike on a beautiful afternoon. Included a face to face with a mama goat and her yearling. We hiked it late in the day an only saw a few people on the trail. We're in our late 60's and made it with no problem.

We loved doing this short hike on the first afternoon after driving from SeaTac. Beautiful forest and mountain ridges in the distance but the lake is quite small. If you have limited time and can do longer hikes, I preferred the diversity of Maple Pass...More

We did this hike a year ago and then again this past August. This is probably one of the most beautiful hikes we have ever done. This second time around, our two kids (9 and 5 years old) came along, as well as, their grandparents...More

Fifteen of us were visiting Winthrop for 4th of July and decided to hike Blue Lake. There was still quite a bit of snow so we took walking sticks/hiking poles and we are glad we did. Absolutely spectacular view at the top and many of...More

About five miles round trip, with 1000 feet of elevation gain. Beautiful hike through the woods, with stunning views of wildflowers and Cascade peaks along the way, including the "back side" of Liberty Bell Mountain, where we saw rock climbers starting up. Blue Lake is...More

This is a 2.2 mile hike one way to a beautiful lake in the cascades. Enjoyed the hike up, which is probably "moderate", not too steep. Gorgeous mountIn peaks, flowers and the lake was crystal blue.

You will hike in shade of the trees all the way up to the lovely lake on the top. It is a very nice hike . The reward is on the top. There are some mountain creeks crossing your path to the top. If you...More
