First of all, after reading some of the reviews, I should mention that this is a review of Second Beach and not Beach 2. I myself was initially confused about the two. Beach 2 is close to Kalaloch Lodge and Ruby Beach. I, myself, have...More

Nice 15-20 minutes hike through green and lush rain forest leads you to the beautiful Second Beach. If possible, try to get there during low tide, tide pools open up another world which makes the beach so much more exciting. Without tide pools, it is...More

Unless you are adept at up and down hiking the trail can be a bit of a challenge. The deadfall is downright dangerous. Unlike Ruby and Rialto beaches there is about 30 yards or dense deadfall with no path. Anyone with balance issues will need...More

Have a bite to eat at Kalaloch Lodge and then take a walk on the beach. Totally exposed to the weather you can walk at low tide for hours and simply enjoy and relax. Always something interesting to find washed up on the beach or...More

We visited several beaches, including Ruby, and found this to be the best. Make sure to go at low tide for great walking and tide pool exploration!

One of my favorite beach! What makes this more special is the fact that the only way to visit the beach is by doing the hike. The hike is easy to moderate. I went there with my husband and parents and they comfortably did the...More

Took us 15 min to hike to the beach with lots of stairs down and then backup but worth it. The views are amazing. You will have to climb over lots of logs and driftwood to get to the beach after you hike down.

From the small parking lot, there is a well marked trail that leads you to the beach along a moderate (not too difficult, but there is a change in elevation) path. Hiking through the tall trees and climbing over the huge drift wood logs to...More

This beach was better than Ruby beach. little harder approx 7/10 of a mile walk, down hill at the end, but bigger and better tidal pools. Waves were not as bad to take a dip

The trail itself is a climb up, walk on the flat, walk down, then scramble over a big log jam so takes a while depending on your age and agility. But allow plenty of time for exploring the lovely beach - so much... More
