We hiked to bear lake, dream lake and Nemph Lake. There was still some snow on the trail and it was quite slippery in places. I was happy that friends had loaned us shoe clips to offer us more traction. We had hiked Hanging Lake...More

My gf and I went may 2017 and it was breathtaking. There was snow so having waterproof hiking shoes was a big big plus. About 1 mile walk around the lake was amazing.

Bear lake is awesome. My wife and I plus our 4 year daughter made the hike around the lake quite easily. Lot of great views. Definitely worth the stop and $30 week pass into RMNP.

We saw elk and deer on our way to and from Bear Lake. One part of the national park was closed but Bear Lake was open. The lake was half frozen in middle of May. Loved seeing the animals!

Depending on when you plan to visit, the closest campgrounds in Rocky Mountain National Park are Glacier Basin and Moraine Park. Aspenglen would be another option in RMNP. Do a Google Search for RMNP campgrounds and you... More
My son and I are visiting and would like to do this hike on March 16. We didn't bring winter wear with us and have just sneakers. Will we need other footwear?

HI, I'm pretty sure dogs are not allowed on trails in RMNP. I thought I read that somewhere before our trip. And, I didn't see anything about swimming at Bear Lake.
