This was worth the long drive. There's a picnic area by the river. The hiking was easy and peaceful along the waters edge and even under the cliffs of the dome. Beautiful!

Most of this hike is fairly flat, although there is a rocky section with some up and down. The meadow is intensely green and beautiful, and some other hikers spotted a bear near the water. The parking lot was full when we arrived on a...More

The Zumwalt Meadow Trail is a bit off the beaten path, which means it's not too crowded and thus a great place for a peaceful hike. As it's not too far it's a fairly easy walk

The meadow is at the very end of Kings Canyon and is THE must to be done. It is a gorgeous walk. The combination of the meadow, forest, fiver and high granite walls are amazing. The walk is about 1.3 miles. There is a bit...More

At the end of the road in Kings Canyon lies this jewel. So many lovely stops along the way too, many restrooms.Take a picnic and stop along the way, waterfalls, scenery, meadows, bridges. Cedar lodge has food.

Allow an hour. A little ways to get to the footbridge. After that you can either go clockwise or anticlockwise. We went counterclockwise and the path was easy and flat to start with but half way through near the rock face it starts to get...More

Definitely a highlight of Kings Canyon! The trail is mostly flat but has some rocks to climb over at one point. The views of the canyon are superb. We loved this hike.
