This was our first time in the Shenandoah National Park and we loved it. We enjoyed our stay at Skyland, our room was clean and comfortable and the staff there were very friendly. We were there in mid September and the trees had not yet started to change color but the drive was still very beautiful. I would love to get... More

We were glad we paid for a premium room and called ahead to request a room with a valley view. The sunsets are spectacular. The unit was spacious and clean and within walking distance to the trailhead of the Stony Man hikes. My mother-in-law does not hike and therefore, it would have been nice to be near the lodge and... The best desert of our trip by far. The Mountain Tap Room served us after two while the dining room was regrettably closed. The burger was good and the ice cream pie beyond description. Thank God another table had ordered it so we could see it's wonder. All worth the trip to Shenandoah.

One can see beautiful views from the overlooks, but if you really want to experience skyline drive take one of the many hikes which are available for all different abilities

Very beautiful place to visit, spectacular view over the mountains. We visited there in autumn and the colors were worth seeing. Liked that place very much.

Following a suggestion from a Park Ranger at one of the Visitor Centers, we stopped for a break at Skyland. It was not crowded mid-day in early Oct., and we had a window seat and could look out at the beautiful views. The blackberry ice cream was delicious as recommended and there was also a nice gift shop where we... More

The Skyland Resort is located in the middle of the park so it allows flexibility for hiking on nearby trails. The rooms have a different feel about them especially at night.

Breathtaking view I think this is the highest point of elevation on skyline. Dining room was crowded but worth the wait. Wish I had a window seat.

The Skyland area of the Shenandoah has not expanded its infrastructure and facilities to accommodate more visitors in quite some time. This makes the area much more crowded than I would personally like. Parking is a nightmare as are the waiting lines for bathrooms, restaurants, and the visitor's reservation/information desk. This lack of modernization seems to run counter to the... More

We rolled into the restaurant after hiking Hawksbill mountain and were very fortunate to get a table by the window without waiting very long as the dining area was packed. We split a side salad and an order of fish and chips which was perfect for us. The salad had a nice mixture of greens and veggies and was big... More
