We drove to the Reservoir one afternoon for a break after hiking the Narrows in the morning. Fabulous views all the way up. Very little other traffic. We were at all the pull outs by ourselves. We didn’t hike any of the trails, but there...More

GIven that few places can compete with Zion Canyon I can't give Kolob Terrace a 5-pip rating or recommend that you do this drive or hike in place of visiting ZC. However, I still strongly recommend you follow my path if you have multiple days...More

Driving along this road and taking some short trails was one of the best parts of my visit to Zion. There are very few people taking this road, and the views are gorgeous and very different from what you see in other parts of the...More

Since we were staying on the Kolob Terrace Road at Under Canvas, we decided to take the road to the end to see what there was to be seen. What a delight! From Highway 9, it's about 25 miles in length. After running along the...More

This is a beautiful corner of the park that is not crowded like the main section. We were the only people at most of the viewpoints. You will see an overview of the Zion canyon from afar. We were there around sunset and witnessed a...More

Lots of great hiking back here. Don't forget about it! We drove up to the place you can hike about 2 miles and see into the backside of the canyon.

Found this drive to take west of Zion park (27 miles) from Zion Camp RV. Simply remarkable!! Drive to Virgin and turn right on to Kolob Reservoir road (all paved).

After hiking all day in Zion Canyon, we wanted a less busy place to experience the park. This was perfect a nice day's drive and a number of great moderate hikes off this road. It's just a few miles west of the main park entrance...More

Just 20 minutes from La Verkin and wonderful vistas. Way less crowded than Zion. Highly recommend to take time to venture here.

As for the Kolob Terrace Road - it’s windy and scenic, and suitable for a small RV. As for the road to Lava Point, I wouldn’t recommend even a small RV on this road. It’s gravel/dusty, tight fit, with limited parking and... More
