Nice trail, won't take you 4 hrs do - more like 2.5 hrs, maybe 3 when taking a lot of pictures. We did it early in the morning, 6 am shuttle- not so many people and also in the shade, when we went back down,...More

Terrific day hike, but very crowded. Progressively steeper approach; starts as an easy walk on a paved trail, then to Walter's Wiggles set of narrow switchbacks to Scout Summit. Past that point the hike is not for the acrophobic; spectacular approach across a 2ft-wide sandstone...More

All the hype about the Angel's Landing trail is well deserved .... so why didn't I give it an Excellent rating. One word .... CROWDED. I wasn't planning to do the last half-mile to the top anyway, but I was shocked at the incredible number...More

Most people have no idea how dangerous this hike can be. You can not be afraid of heights and have to be very sure and steady on your feet. The last 2 miles of the hike have a 1200 foot drop on both sides. Part...More

This was an amazingly beautiful hike. At every turn, there was a view and it was beautiful. It is a hard hike, I'm not going to lie. There are twenty one switch backs called Walter's Wiggles that take the breath out of you no matter...More

Probably the most infamous trail in Zion. It is what everyone says it is - a tough hike not for the fainthearted. Get there EARLY (before 7am) if you want to beat the crowds. Read up on it before you go so you know what...More

START EARLY: While it's helpful and encouraging to be up there with some people, I couldn't imagine the stress if it was busy and crowded, as there are times in the latter portion when you will need to wait for others to pass you or...More

Three series of switchbacks as you go up the mountain. The sets are steep but manageable. Bring lots of water and protein snacks to refuel. Hike earlier in the morning to avoid big crowds and have the coolest weather. Do not bring walking sticks because...More

Feels like a very long trail while going up and try to take more water. Say at least 4-5 liters per person. You will definitely need on hot summer days. The last 0.25 to 0.5 miles is very challenging. You have to hold the chains...More

No but certainly helpful until you get to the chains. Then they are in the way.

Pick hikes that your 7 year old can do and enjoy. Weeping Rock, emerald pools, scouts lookout (but not to Angels Landing...could continue in rim trail). Whatever hikes you do, pace yourself based on your child & always take... More
