All reviews afraid of heights walter's wiggles refrigerator canyon half mile scout lookout final ascent take your time coming down great hike sense of accomplishment chain section narrow path strenuous hike steep switchbacks both sides west rim trail decent shape
Our family hiked to scout lookout (about 3/4 of the full Angel's Landing trail), and enjoyed breath-taking views. It was a great location for a pack lunch and resting point while watching the hikers take on the narrow trail onto Angel's Landing.
Don't let the pictures of the chains and ledge hiking in the last .5 miles of this hike to Angel's Landing stop you from going as far as Scout Lookout. The views are well worth it, and then you can decide whether to challenge yourself...More
It’s Angels Landing. Epic and treacherous. Worth it. I was lucky with the weather. Started early - first shuttle - at 0630 - to beat the crowds. Pace yourself and go slow up the last part. Three points of contact. Watch the weather and bring...More
I had no intention of walking up Angels Landing I had seen the video. My husband talked me into walking up a little way, once we started I was determined to get to the top, with lots of stops and encouragement from lots of people...More
My wife and I just finished a 2-1/2 day visit to Zion Natl Park. We were hesitant to hike Bright Angel given the warnings and my fear of heights, but were glad that we did indeed hike this trail. Turns out that you can hike...More
It's a great and sometimes steep hike to a flabbergasting view. You need the take 21 Walter’s Wiggles switchbacks to come to the end. If you have fear you can stop at Scout’s Lookout ... But you are almost there, do it, the view is...More
Beautiful scenery. Very steep hike. Lots of people which is the only downside. I enjoyed this hike and almost made it all the way to the top but we were strapped for time. I feel like this hike could actually be turned into a permit...More
Amazing hike in an amazing park. This is a tiring, strenuous hike, but if you're up for the challenge it's a must do! Getting the to spine is the most tiring part with all the switchbacks. It can be a slow hike on the spine,...More
This is truly a spectacular hike. I wish we had more time. We made it to the base of the spine. My goal is to go back and do the spine! I would suggest that you leave early in the morning, and make sure that...More
This is a must do hike at Zion National Park. It is extremely strenuous, I'm not going to lie. The incline, the switch backs, the precarious steps to the very very very top is for the most adventurous hiker - but the view is Spectacular!

I recommend good hiking boots. There are a lot of uneven surfaces that will wear your feet out if they are sensitive to hard surfaces. I strongly recommend The Subway hike if you can get a permit. Otherwise, try The Narrows... More
I recommend good hiking boots. There are a lot of uneven surfaces that will wear your feet out if they are sensitive to hard surfaces. I strongly recommend The Subway hike if you can get a permit. Otherwise, try The Narrows (rent water shoes at one of the outfitters). I have also heard that the Observation Point hike is awesome. We did Hidden Canyon and there were some great views to the right at the end of the maintained trail. We also scrambled pretty far up into the canyon, well past the sign that declared that we had reached the end.
Angels landing and the emerald pools are closed right now. And right now it seems like the Narrows are packed with people. Google “latest conditions of Zion National Park” there’s an app that tells what’s closed.

Parking fills up quickly. Last time we were there the parking lot filled up less than 30 minutes of opening the park. Since you are planning to go later in the day there is a chance that there might be some parking due to the fact of others leaving the park. But that would be left to chance.
