Orderville Canyon is a slot canyon approximately three miles up the Narrows. It is far narrower than the narrows and bouldering is required in some places. Be sure to check the flash flood potential before entering any slot canyon. When I visited, a permit was required to hike into Orderville Canyon. Be safe and enjoy!

Be sure to bring your harness and rope and have some skill in rappelling. This is great for beginners who have someone with them to "show them the ropes". Some obstacles are challenging. Water is cold midway through but "warms up" once you reach the narrows. Takes about 10 hours starting in orderville and going to Riverwalk. Need a permit... More

This is a branch to the right as you come to Wall Street on the right side of the narrows. By contrast it is even narrower than the narrows and is actually more difficult to walk up. We went up it a little way on the way back down from Big Springs and wish we had more time to go... More

We only hiked up about 20 minutes into this canyon after completing the Narrows hike to the end of Wall Street. The water in Orderville Canyon was crystal clear and running fast; quite a difference from the murky water of the Narrows. We traversed three rises going up this canyon before we chose to turn back (time constraints). The three... More

12 miles of hiking, rock scrambling, rappelling, swimming, etc. Took us around 9-10 hours from top down. Orderville meets up with the Narrows which was a bonus. Everything that we trained for we got to do! Definitely worth it if you're a beginner in canyoneering! Definitely doable and worth the effort.

This is a fun, pretty easy canyon for beginning canyoneers. There are about 3 repels, only about 20-30 ft each. The top down hike can easily be done in a day and is pretty easy going.

We did this a a side hike from the Narrows. We found it to be majestic, mysterious, not crowded, but were disgusted to find many large piles of fresh human feces and toilet paper where hikers sought out the seclusion of this side canyon to deposit their excrement instead of planning ahead and bringing provisions to pack it out (RestStop2... We hiked Orderville canyon from the top down. Most economical way is to drop a car at the narrows parking lot, or if the shuttles are running, then at the Zions Canyon visitors center. There are good directions online so won't go into the details. If you can get someone to drop you off at the trailhead that's even better.... More

It's my understanding that you can get to Orderville Canyon by hiking up The Narrows in Zion National Park. We hiked in some other way with a guide. The views are stunning. Don't visit Zion without seeing a real slot canyon. It's worth the effort. And bring a waterproof camera. You'll want to photograph your accomplishment!
