This trail is challenging (my legs feel very sore from it!) because it's mostly climbing up. If you are going to Angel's Landing, you will go through West Rim Trail.

We meant to turn left out of the parking area, but ended up headed right so we had no idea what we were getting into. I kept thinking, Utah is hardcore if they think this is an easy hike. It's not. It gets steep. But...More

We didn't get very far on this hike because of deep snow, but it was beautiful and only had one other hiker who was breaking a path for us. Completely quiet out there and nothing but our path and animal tracks in the snow. We...More

The trail head is well-marked and begins a few miles from Lava Point. It is best to have two vehicles, one parked near the Visitor's Center where the shuttles run, the other to travel to the trail head. The hike begins easy enough, about four...More

West RIm is long-ish but not difficult. The views are epic. Best we had in our week in Zion. Zion Adventure will shuttle you to the trail head and then it's 14 miles mostly downhill to an exit at the Grotto (Angel's landing TH). Expansive...More

The first few km offers fantastic views of Angels landing, every view gets better and better. Go for this part. After you cant see Angels landing anymore, the trail gets less spectacular. I greatly recommend the first part of the hike.

Great lookouts in the end at the Plateau, before that it's kind of bright, hot in the summer and the view is not very entertaining. The end is worth it though. And of course, combined with Angels Landing it's a great nice workout and dayhike

Totally possible. Just look at the weather forecast. You are still reasonalbly high in elevation but it won't be cold. It has been a number of years since doing this hike but having grown up here it is one I did many... More
