The 12 mile drive from the south entrance to the east entrance is very beautiful. There are many beautiful overlooks along the way. The road is one way each direction so it can be slow if you get some sightseers in front of you that...More

As you leave Zion if you head out towards nearby Bryce Canyon NP you are treated to a fantastic scenic roadway. You start out switchbacking up the mountain where you go through a tunnel on your way out of the canyon. Hoodoos, arches, and other...More

Stunning views all along the route to Zion... The long line of cars at the east entrance seemed at first an annoyance... then we just opened the windows and sunroof, and took it all in. Not a bad place to be "stuck" in traffic!

When visiting the Park be certain to take the drive round trip. Almost skipped it and we would have missed an important portion of Zion.

We drove in from Page, AZ, taking Highway 9 from the east. As you enter the park, you drive past Checkerboard Mesa and through a very scenic and remote area. Just before the tunnel is a turnout to park and take a short hike to...More

This section of road runs through part of the Zion National park. Its beauty is a thing to behold. The range and variety of rock structures is incredible. A camera cant do it justice. A steady drive with stops will take about half an hour....More

Beautiful scenery, big horn sheep on the cliffs, and an absolutely amazing tunnel through the rock. No lights other than vehicle headlights. Ventilation is provided by large "galleries" cut into the wall at intervals. An incredible experience.

On a trip to the Grand Canyon, Zion was the highlight for me. The scenery is spectacular and the colours are stunning. We were sorry we'd not allowed more time to spend here. I personally like it better than the Grand Canyon. I guess we've...More

Traveled the highway after spending the day in ZNP. The tunnel was pretty amazing when you think how it is drilled through all of that rock. It is 1.1 miles long, and very dark, pitch black at times. Around every turn is a new majestic...More

You can see the Arch from the drive down into the canyon from the tunnel. Some good pull-ins to view it, or the drive down the switchbacks is so slow (good) that you can simply view it from the car. Cannot help with the gps... More
