The roadway connecting Bryce Canyon National Park to the highway passes through thee Mt.Carmel Tunnel. It is over a mile long and traffic has to alternate directions as it can only proceed one way.

Great trip! Go in the late afternoon and the traffic will not be as bad. Stop and hike to the overlook it is a fantastic view. You can watch the traffic go into the tunnel.

if you have a personal car, no. if you have a larger vehicle its a $15 fee. larger then 11 feet in height or 7 feet wide. you receive and pay for the permit at the tunnel entrance, whether you are heading into Zion or out... More
