This overlook provides a great view of southern Zion Canyon if you're willing to climb the 2200 feet of elevation to get there.

Absolutely fantastic views, but believe the hiking guides- it is very strenuous! I am a 58 year old woman with some physical limitations. I thought that since I have hiked Angel's Landing twice (different years) that I could do this hike. Big mistake!. I managed...More

This hike has a great reward at the end - magnificent views of Zion. It is not as crowded as Angel's Landing. We did it on a very hot day in June. Drank 3 liters of water. It was a challenging hike.

We knew this would be a long hike, and it was. While we brought enough food, we really didn't have as much water as we would like. We brought 48oz per person, but really could have used double that, since we did the hike from...More

We set out on this hike, not really knowing what to expect and we were pleasantly surprised every step of the way...this hike has everything ; amazing views, wild life, slot canyons and by the end you feel like you were on a stair master...More

This hike kicked our butts! It was hot and we began early. Next time we will be on this trail as the sun rises. The elevation change is challenging with over a 2,000 ft ascent of switchbacks that can make your muscles burn. Bring plenty...More

Take the shuttle bus to the Weeping Rock stop. The trailhead for Observation Point, leaves from this shuttle stop. The trail to Observation Point, is roughly 8 miles roundtrip and leads to a beautiful viewpoint looking down on Zion Canyon and Angel's Landing. The hike...More

DON'T MISS THIS. Get off the shuttle at the Grotto. Use the bathroom before your hike. Stay hydrated. Take your lunch. Walk slow and use your walking stick. Plan for 3 or 4 hours. Coming back is all downhill, so watch your knees. Go early...More

Hiked up mountainside to a great viewpoint of Zion Canyon. Trail is maintained with switchbacks through red Navajo sandstone and through Echo Canyon. The top is a great place to picnic.

Observation point was simply stunning, a lovely hike up to the peak and u could view into three canyons and look down at Angels Landings. It's a good hike but worth the effort , so glad we went there.

About a mile into the 8 mile round trip of this hike is a slot canyon that's worth the effort of the switchbacks and narrow but maintained trail. Swirling designs of sandstone mimic the colors and patterns seen in Antelope Canyon as the walls tower...More

Can you give me more detail about "the back way" to hike Observation Point? Where exactly did you start? Is your way as scenic as the regular route? Is it basically the same route except that you started a little farther along? THANKS

I might be slightly wrong about beaver and cedar, now that I look at the map, but from Twin Knolls there are a lot of signs.

The weather in May is supposed to be perfect for hiking. When we went, it varied between 12 and 22C over three different days, so i can't tell you what it will be like when you go next year! There was also rain in the... More
