I picked this hike as an alternative over Angels Landing during Memorial Day Weekend and it proved to be the right choice. It was WAY less crowded and completely gorgeous. The first mile or so is a serious climb. But then, there was sweeping cliff...More

Wide, steady rise of a well maintained trail at the beginning that tired me, but grade lessened as we snaked around edge of the cliffs. Trail often narrow with chain handholds as you climb. Maintained trail ended and scrambling began at mouth of canyon. An...More

Hidden Canyon is our second most favourite hike in Zion NP (after Angels Landing). It also has chained sections with steep drop-offs, andante inside the canyon very minor canyoneering skills are required (all easy) to proceed. Not as busy as some other trails in Zion...More

We try this trail to get a taste of chained climbing before heading for angel's landing, it has a lot of switchbacks at the beginning part but the rest is easy. There are animals(may be frogs/birds) shouting loudly at the chained trail portion which is...More

We returned to this trail to do the hidden canyon. It did not take long at all to do. We were the first ones on the chained trail portion and were able to go in and back before meeting other hikers. It was so quiet...More

This is a moderate hike, fairly rocky and steep, can be slippery with rocks. Be very careful and have fun. We did this hike between 11 and 1 PM and it became more crowded around noon. It would be great earlier in the day, but...More

After a morning of canyoneering, we asked our guide to suggest a good afternoon activity in the park that wasn't as crowded as the Emerald Pools. He suggested this one. This hike starts at the trailhead to the more ambitious Observation Point, but then splits...More

Our family (2 adults in their 40's and a 15 and 18 year old) did this hike on a Monday morning in April. We arrived around 9:00. It was chilly but we warmed up with all the uphill climbing. The first section was all uphill....More

We were planning on hiking the Emerald Pools with our kids (ages 4-8 years old), but then got advice that the pools were extremely busy and crowded. A travel guide recommended this hike, and it was gorgeous. We had great views of the main canyon....More

This was a great hike with totally beautiful views all around. It's dicey in some places so you have to be careful not to roll an ankle or hurt your knee. But it is worth the risk for sure. Great for a family just make...More

If you want to go past the trail and actually go into the canyon it'll probably be too difficult for a 6 year old. Some of the areas required a bit of climbing
