The trail is rated moderate but pretty easy. Beginning of trail is a bunch of steps but then flattens out. The view is worth it

The Watchman Trail is a moderate to easy one. The sights are fairly nice, but not on the level of most of the other trails in Zion. At the end you look out over the lower part of the valley and the town of Springdale,...More

I did this hike in Dec. so it was great and perfect weather - sunny but cool. There are a lot of spots that are shady but some in the sun so it would be a bit more difficult in the summer, but still doable...More

We were part of a 13 team hiking group who are all in our 60's and in average to good shape. This hike was just right for us. The park has identified it well. It took us 2 hours all in and was "moderate". some...More

You will work a bit to get to the top, but when you do make it you will be glad you did. Spectacular views. A good place to sit and reflect. It overlooks the camps and visitors areas.

We had only 1 full day in Zion and did not plan to do the Narrows so decided on this trail. We hit the trail head around 7am. It was a nice early morning hike with nice views of the canyon.

This is a nice hike to get a sense of the park. It leaves from the visitor's center and is about 1 mile to a lookout point. The entire park has great scenery, so this is not a standout. Use it as a warm-up or...More

This trail is ideal for those wanting to get some good views but with a relatively short and easy climb. The trail head can be reached after a short walk from the visitor centre. The inclines are moderate and it took us about 45mins to...More

Not everybody is young enough or physically equipped to challenge some of Zion National Park's high elevation and very strenuous (and dangerous) hiking trails. The Watchman Trail, like the Pa' rus Trail, is just within the sanctuary of the park and often overlooked by Zion...More
