Stands high on the hill and can be seen for miles before you get there, unfortunately we couldn't get in after driving up the gravel road to the castle. The castle in its commanding position with its dry defensive moat.

You get a lovely view up on the top of the surrounding plains and mountains. The castle has just been 'renovated', but unfortunately it wasn't open when we got there. It was still nice to walk around it though. It is encircled by a very deep moat and there is a bridge crosses it to the main 'door'. I'm a... More

Just off the highway we found a gorgeous little town, we were only stopping quickly to look at the castle but the walk to and around castle was lovely and the we stopped in plaza de mayor for tapas lunch, which was magnificent. Wonderful addition to out trip.

The castle sits on top of the hill on which Chinchilla is built and the stunning views are well worth the trip. I went up twice during my stay and was fascinated by the cave houses and the amazing architecture. Well worth seeing.

Been to this castle twice this year and had a great day trekking up the streets and hill sides surround this castle. The views from the top extend out as far as the eye can see. Very breathe taking. Sadly, I was not able to get inside as only the outside of it is maintained but this is definitely a... More

Saw it on the hill ahead off of the expressway and stopped, expecting that it might be like so many of the other restored castles that we've seen. Not... No, this is a unique experience to see an unrestored castle that also saw significant damage during the Civil War. It's one of the more impressive sights, up close, especially considering... More

Like some other castles in smalls towns, I have no idea if, or when, this castle is open. The town is small so it isn´t difficult to wind your way up the hill to the castle. Although it was open, it was worth a 20 minute stop just to walk around the outside.
