I've been to Pensacola City Beach dozens of times. If you want to hang out with throngs of people and kids, please stay in the Casino Beach area. BUT, if you want to get away from all that, just drive east for the free beach...More

Beach is very noce with blue water. Clean in all respect. Do offers shower & public restrroms on beach along with chair rentals.

I visited this beach in August. We stayed at the Portofino Island Resort and the adjacent beach was clean and quiet. The resort staff provided chairs and umbrellas. Beautiful water and white sand.

We took a day trip from Biloxi , MS and I was so happy we come went to this beach. White sand , clear water and we could walk far before it got deep. I hope to go again

Nice beach with lots of nearby restaurants, shops, bars and stores. Beach was clean, you can rent chairs or bring your own.

Pensacola is always a good family vacation. Clean with good food...not too rowdy. Far enough from Destin to be quiet but close enough for attractions.

We usually only go to Pensacola Beach in the winter; January/February. We have never really seen much for algae. On occasion, after a storm, we may see a little washed up on the beach, but the beach cleaner is out there... More

How do you reserve those shelter houses just past the toll booth at Pensacola beach ? Is it first come or do you pay for them?

If you mean the covered picnic tables most are on first come basis.

I don't know about alcohol but they do fish. I believe they can have cans but no glass for drinks and I have seen coolers.👍
