Totally worth a visit with a guide. The water reservoir is particularly stunning. Incredibly relevant to understand the history of the island. Look down at the old Port (roman) from the castle to see the actual old dock now submerged

We came here this afternoon. It was 2€ each admission. It's quite a big place. There is some renovations going on and plenty to see. Some great views of the town and sea.

We are continually astounded by the great historic sites that only cost 2 euro to enter. This is a very large castle compound with some restored buildings and some being restored. Be sure to go into the buildings that are open and definitely don't miss...More

Best 2 Euros spent on Lesvos Views of the harbor and island are beautiful and the history and buildings are also impressive. You get hands-on access it almost everything. Walk the top of the castle walls, discover ancient cistern, touch ancient marble columns, explore and...More

A good walk from a town of Mytilene up and over the hill to the castle! Although there is some signage it’s not really a good visit as there are no real guides to the castle which looks very uncared for and really does not...More

it is worth visiting as the place is very well preserved-a lot of cultural events-mostly concerts are held in the summer here-there is also a small forest around it, which is worth strolling and exploring-a must if you visit Mitilene

What a great place to visit. The views are spectacular and definetly worth the 2euro entrance fee. Do some research beforehand . But there are interesting information panels along the way. Enjoy a frappe just below the castle and admire the stunning views. Then stroll...More

Beautiful place. Very nice view. Costs 2 e for a person. No parking close to it. You need to walk there on the hill.

No doubt a major landmark of Mytilene, with some fantasy (unfortunatelly with nearly no help from the institution taking care for the castle) one can imagine the original size of the enormous structure, and the power behind. I have found the most interesting some of...More
