About Captain Taina
Captain Taina has been guiding around Moorea’s waters for 17 years. You’ll receive from our family a real discovery of our lagoon and its wildlife. Enjoy an amazing swim with turtles, sharks, rays, schools of fish and even underwater sculptures ! For those less comfortable in the water, enjoy the clear view of the lagoon and all its creatures aboard our glass bottom boat. You’ve never seen the water like this before. Finally, delight your senses on our private motu (islet). Will be waiting for you some rum punch, pineapple juice, beer and water. You’ll feast on a local meal with fresh ingredients: Tahitian raw fish salad, chicken breast and fresh fish Kebabs, and seasonal fruits. Friendly for guests of all age, our tours guaranty a high comfort and a real intimacy (12 passengers max). We look forward to sharing our unique experience of Moorea with you, above and below the surface.

We just did this last week. The entire package was a super hit with my wife and I and our 2 kids. Every element of the tour was perfect - the explanation of the history and culture, the swimming with turtles, stingrays, fishes, seeing them respect their Gods, the family-like lunch with fresh food on their private island. The fresh Tahitian Ceviche, the barbeque fish and chicken, fresh desert and the homemade barbeque sauce were just out of this world! Kena (Captain Taina's son) and his crew were so friendly and hospitable. Also a shoutout to them for accommodating us within short notice due to an unfortunate change in our trip dates. If you are visiting Moorea, this must be your must-do activity people. Kids and adults will love it equally. Thanks Lisa Corso (Tahiti Legend) for booking this for us. We know understand why this was highly recommended by you

Captain Taina brought us first to an area where he knows every turtle in the water, and then maneuvered his boat to glide us alongside in the water as one after another of these beautiful creatures swam close by. It was truly magical. Next he took us to see beautiful underwater statues, even diving down himself to brush the sand from the statues so we could get a good look. Captain Taina explained each statues’ meaning to the Polynesian people and how the tikis came to be in the ocean. We snorkeled amid beautiful fish and coral as colorful as an underwater garden, and Captain Taina swam with us as guide. Then suddenly two or three stingrays showed up and Captain Taina fed them and invited us to feel them. That would have completed a perfect day for me but next we motored to a little private island owned by Captain Taina’s family, where he prepared poisson cru (Tahiti’s gift to world cuisine) and grilled swordfish for a delicious lunch. The day’s excursion was the highlight of my trip to Tahiti.

Fantastic experience with Captain Taina. The crew is all family. It gives a very nice vibe. Plus it is ideal we are only a small group (12). It helps a lot to enjoy every stops. Cultural explanation is top. I would do it more than once.

We booked through Tahiti Legends and Lisa Corso told us this was her favorite tour. We can see why! This was so much fun and our guide (Captain Taina's son) was so passionate and you can tell that he truly loves Moorea. We swam with the stingrays and the black tipped reef sharks. We saw turtles. We saw some tikis in the water. We saw some eagle rays through the bottom of the glass bottom boat. Lunch was amazing! We tried a bunch of new things and it was all great! We even got to see some eels! I would highly recommend this tour!

This was the most amazing your we took while in Tahiti. Taina's son was our guide and treated us like royalty. When we arrived he created us by name and have us the best seats on the boat, right at the front even though we were the last ones to board. The boat only takes 12 passengers at a time so it is very intimate. We were the only English speaking people (everyone else was French), but everything was translated. The boat stopped at many places to allow us to snorkel, swim with sting rays and sharks. Both guides explained much of the history of the island and even recommend other yours and restaurants to visit. At the end of our tour our drivers was called to make sure he was waiting on the parking lot to pick is up! Overall it was am amazing day on the water and the we will never forget. We will.book again when we return to Tahiti! Thanks again for a great day. Tammy and Eloy
