A purpose built hide for viewing the feeding of the Red Kites . The hide has some wooden benches to sit on and standing room with a shelf to rest a camera on . We feed at 3.00PM SUMMER and then 2.00PM when the clocks change the end of OCTOBER. You need to be inside the hides before feeding time , If you arrive after feeding time you may not be allowed into the hides because this disturbs the people already inside and waiting. NOISE must be kept to a minimum so that the Red Kites are not scared away Children must be taken out if making too much noise . Remember these birds are wild and we have no control on how many will turn up or how soon they will dive in for the food . Every day is different and also weather dependant etc etc CAFE IS CLOSED , PLEASE EAT, DRINK ETC ON ROUTE WELL BEHAVED DOGS WELCOME must be on a lead. REMEMBER YOU MUST BE IN THE HIDE BEFORE FEEDING SO YOU WILL NOT BE TURNED AWAY . THEY ARE COMPLETELY WILD AND WE CANNOT PREDICT HOW SOON THEY WILL COME IN TO FEED .

We were driving from Aberyswyth to Brecon and saw that this was on the way, so we planned to be there for feeding time. The last 7 miles were of the one-lane variety that have you wondering if you're lost, but the countryside is beautiful so it wouldn't even matter. But then we arrived in the back of beyond to... My husband loves nature and we popped in here after driving past it. So glad we did. If you are a bird nut you will love it. At certain times of the day, park rangers feed the huge pack of red kites that appear as if a bell had been rung. The pictures we took were fantastic and it is... More

Friendly welcome at point of registration, in the cafe. We enjoyed the farm walk before heading to the hides, wow what an amazing experience - will definitely return when next in the area.

Boy what an amazing place! Went there with the kids and we were all captivated by the feeding frenzy at 3pm! (3pm on the nose, no delay or fuss.) It was amazing where the birds all came from - at 2:50pm there were a handful circling in the skies above, then as the tractor with the meat arrived, there were... More

I have been trying for ages to get decent shots of Red Kites, what I did not realise was that they were just an hour away from our home in Port Talbot. The drive itself is fairly breath taking over the Black Mountain, what a view. Llanddeusant was easy to find, ample free parking, this is a short walk of 250... More

A must see if you're in the area or passing through like we were. See the kites being fed; it kept two young teens occupied while we enjoyed it. The people who feed them are friendly and helpful. The birds are amazing and the bonus is the views with all the sheep and lambs playing. Factor it into your trip... More

Lived up to our expectations. Although short it was amazing and the kids stayed interested. There were at least 50 birds doing fantastic aerial manoeuvres right above us. I forgot our binoculars but you didn't really need them.

We came across the site by chance on a drive from Llandovery, just before feeding time. The birds were circling and waiting and as the food was put out just in front of us, swooped down right over our heads dropped in to feed. Fabulous views of the kites in flight, and their acrobatics, and well worth the £4 entry... More
