Lovely views over English Harbour. Gardens and the remains of a fort. Inside a short film called “Reflections of the Sun” about the development of the island: the first Amerindian settlers through to the European agricultural settlements, the island's role as a British military base and the campaign for independence. Around the room were models including ones of the “heroes” and a sugar factory. In the lobby was a huge shell collection.

I was sceptical as I walked in here, tourist attractions not being my thing. However I was completely won over. There was a 15min video presentation about the islands history which was part dated and part informative. Then one of the staff, Kevin, took us on a brief tour of the site and the view below of Nelson’s Dockyard, English harbour and neighbouring islands.
He was very knowledgeable and friendly and we both really liked him.
Well worth visiting as you go up to Shirley heights

We made an unexpected stop here. As well as the stunning views over English Harbour, we were treated to a cute and informative 15-minute film which gives an overview of the history, culture and heritage of Antigua and Barbuda. A surprise bonus on our tour. Its included in the Shirley Heights and Nelson's Dockyard ticket price, so why wouldn’t you?

We stopped here as part of our cruise ship excursion. There are great view points for photos here. There was also a film presentation that we watched about the history of Antigua that was very informative. There was a giftshop and bathrooms here.

The Interpretation Center runs a short 12-15 minute video presenting the history of the island and its inhabitants over the centuries. Very well done--informative, educational and well worth the time.
Views of the surrounding area from atop the Dow's Hill are excellent and present good photo ops.

Commanding view from the site. Multimedia exhibition gives show of timeline of the island. The ruins there was originally constructed as a fort.

We were very surprised by how well done the audio visual presentation was and really learnt a lot about Antigua.

As part of our island tour we had a quick stop here for pictures and to enjoy the view of Nelsons dock yard. There are bathrooms and a short video about the history of the island. The building and facilities are worn and dated but you expect that on these islands. The road up to the view point wasn't to bad compared to other roads on the island. Definitely is worth the drive for the view.

The national park ticket allows you to go to the interpretation centre the block house, Nelson's Dockyard and Shirley heights for about £10 per person. The presentation was informative done in quite a child like way, so good for kids too. The views from outside are great.

Educational and worthwhile audio visual show. Only basic,...but worth a few minutes of your time....and cost are included with Nelsons Dockyard tickets. (1hour max)

Afterwards, take a walk to the back see the fort ruins, extensive views to Mamora bay ..and grab some photo's of the scenery.

Typically combine this with Nelsons Dockyard and Shirley Heights (daytime!). Your Taxi driver will normally wait.
