So our first ever dive and all I can say is I was made to feel 100% confident.
The instructors were excellent on every count. The briefing and the instructions were clear. Once in the water we were made to feel safe at all times. The instructor took his time and made sure we were calm and ok at all times.
I would recommend divecarib to anyone and everyone as it was 100% satisfaction on every level. Thank you for a fantastic first dive

Having previously done some discovery dives in India, I decided I wanted to progress to my PADI Open Water qualification. The quality of the instruction I received from DiveCarib surpassed all my expectations. The DiveCarib team is extremely experienced – including a world record holder – yet incredibly humble and patient with both students and qualified divers of all levels and abilities. Safety was top notch and all the equipment fitted and functioned perfectly. In the space of a couple of mornings we saw spotted eagle rays, Southern stingrays, spiny lobsters, green turtles, hawksbill turtles, large mutton snapper, scrawled filefish, porcupine fish and all manner of smaller reef fish and corals. I came away wanting to go back for more! I highly recommend you dive with DiveCarib, whether you want to gain qualifications, or just have an unforgettable experience exploring Antigua's unspoiled reefs.

This is my second year diving with Leigh, Louis and the team. Although I'm advanced open water I only have 40 dives or so, which means the reassurance that comes from Leigh's quite unbelievable record in technical and deep water diving is worth a lot to me. Their rental equipment is terrific and along with their calm and enthusiastic approach and some great dive locations it meant that this was another excellent year for me. I most certainly will be back next year....

I would highly recommend DiveCarib for experienced divers looking to do fun dives. Lee and Louis were very good guides and gave a thorough briefing and overall ran a great diveshop. The reason for 3* and not 5* is that we were charged $145 for a PADI refresher course that was essentially a fun dive with no skill brush-ups. I’ve done three previous PADI refresher courses over the last 11 years in Maldives, Tenerife and Red Sea and this was the only one that did not do any theory refresh or drills e.g. mask removal etc. I did two subsequent fun dives with them which were excellent and I could not fault it. Overall 2* for the PADI refresher course and 5 stars for the fun dives.

We believe the initial briefing was appropriate, considering we covered basic buoyancy control, and took time to elaborate about the equipment, as well as briefing what to do in different scenarios. We do however concede that we should have made it clear that we could practice any skills at the start of the dive, before swimming away from the boat, and in hindsight, we should have asked you personally on the boat, away from the group. The other divers on the session, who had not dived for a couple of years, had told us that they were comfortable with e.g. clearing a mask / regulator, but at that point we really should have double checked that everyone else was also happy.
We wish that you had raised this with us at the time, so that we could have made amends.

Great dive outfit. Nice small well organized operation. Lee is the most reassuring and relaxed dive leader. A real pleasure to be under the water with him. Everything is well organized. Whilst we brought our own gear the centre equipment was all top notch. The dive briefings were the best I have have for a very long time which really adds to the enjoyment of the dive. They have their own moorings on the dive sites so no other teams in the water. Underwater Lee sets a nice relaxed pace that allows everybody to explore freely. Highly recommended.

Leigh was a really great dive instructor. He made us feel really relaxed and comfortable, and was very easy going yet professional. As locals, we would highly recommend anyone who wants to try out diving for the first time or to dive on your spare time with this company!

We undertook the Refresher Dive and Discover Scuba courses together as a couple as I'm a qualified diver and my partner had never dived before. Leigh was amazing. He did a great briefing focusing on the important information prior to the dive. We had absolute confidence that we would be looked after throughout. Our first dive was in less than ideal conditions but we felt safe throughout and our second dive was perfect. We saw so many amazing tropical fish, lobsters and coral. Highly recommended and would do further diving and courses with them.

The description of the diver refresher course was misleading. My expectation was that it would be a focus on basic skills like safety checks, buoyancy and general safe diving. I was taken straight on a dive with people who regularly dive and there was no refreshing on any skills. This made the overall focus more in keeping up with the group rather than feeling comfortable back in the water after many years of no diving..

When we arrived in Antigua the Covid restrictions were such that we were not allowed out in the boats but Leigh moved heaven and earth to get that changed and we really had a great time. At first we could only dive in the harbour so quite shallow but even that was good (and quite challenging) diving at times. Leigh contacted the coast guard and by the last two days we made it out to deeper water and slightly further afield. Diving The English Harbour was amazing - a real sense of history. Seeing the coral nursery was really interesting. Dive Carib could not have done more to give us as good an experience as possible with the restrictions. Professional, friendly, caring - thank you so much.

Leigh and Louis pull off that great trick of providing a fun and friendly environment whilst providing a completely safe and professional dive where everyone is fully aware of what is going on at all times. I dived the Pillars and Blackpoint sites which are easy reasonably shallow dives but with a ton of stuff to see, and in our case great visibility.
I didn't do any courses with DiveCarib, but Louis and Leigh would be excellent instructors and I'd highly recommend anyone wanting to do a course to go here.

Do you have trips for snorkelling only?

We do have trips for snorkelling only, we can take 6 out at a time and the cost is $50US pp. We will take you to a sheltered shallow site, only 5mins boat ride away from our dock in Falmouth Harbour.

Thank you for contacting us. We do have availability to take you diving, but am afraid we do not do hotel pick ups. We are about twenty minutes from Pineapple Beach. There are unfortunately no dive operators any closer to you, as you are on the windward side of the island, which is unsuitable for diving. Our typical two tank dive trip departs 9am, returning 1pm. Dive sites are only about 15 minutes from our dock. Depths are between 12-18 meters, 40-60 feet. Time depends on air consumption and NDL limits, often exceeding an hour per dive. I do not check this site often, so if you have any questions and require a prompt response, please email me.

I spoke with Harry about treasure hunting off the Fort Berkeley site, the range of the 2.5 ton cannon on the site was about 1.5 miles so if you draw some concentric rings at 1.5 1.0 and .75 miles and were to do some research about British naval battles off the Fort you might come across some treasure from a French vessel sunk in about 50' of water near the Fort and somewhere between Montserrat. Take some divers with you and look for anything unusual! Have fun with that one, Dave.

Thanks Dave. There were actually no battles here. A major one South of Guadeloupe, but English harbour was too well fortified for the French to ever consider attacking.
