This spot was very cool! So much history, am looking forward to reading more about it. If you are looking at the ruins with the ocean in the background, just to the right is a cave pool. There is a ladder you can take down to the cave pool, which is protected by rock once in. Great for the adventurous - my husband loved it. Me and my flip flops declined the trip. If want to check it out, make sure have sufficient footwear, as you will be walking on coral rocks once down the ladder.

This place was interesting historically, but it is literally only a couple of stone walls without information or visitor center of any kind. The shore next to the ruins is a beautiful location with a shore strewn with rocks. Would be a naturally beautiful view of the shore and ocean... if literally EVERY single rock wasn't stacked into a "wish stack". I mean come on, can we just leave nature in its natural state instead of acting like dogs marking our territory every time there are a few rocks laying around to stack? By the way, stacking rocks does not make wishes come true or whatever nonsensical meaning people attach to these stacks! It only further ruins the natural beauty left on our planet with superstitious "wish graffiti"! So go see the ruins, but kick over a few rock stacks while you are there to help restore the shore to a more natural looking state.

As others have said, this is worth a stop if you are in the area, but not worth a trip otherwise. As we drove the northern part of the island in our Jeep, we were excited to have something to explore and climb on. There is even a bathroom ($1), which was a welcome site! Also, a vendor selling food/drinks. You can get some good pictures here, but it would be better if there was more historical information.

We had our own vehicle so stopping at this location was easy after seeing the fallen bridge. Nice place to walk around and on the ocean. We drove down the beach for a long time but had to turn back as we couldn't' get there from here.

People here and on several websites are mistakenly posting photos of the Bushribana Ruins located on the east coast of the island. The Balashi ruins are located mid-island, closer to the west side. It has beautiful stone paths which looks like in the past decade or two they were built (by the city?) in hopes to turn it into a tourist site. Gorgeous stone ruins, with a large concrete building on the top of the hill, no windows, with an in-ground swimming pool. Not sure if the building was a house. Doesn't look like it was ever finished. If you're going to shoot romantic photos, morning light is best, otherwise ruins will be in the shadows.

Many of the Jeep and UTV tours stop here but you can also get here by rental car if you are good at reading a map and have a great sense of direction.
The mill was built to look like a fort in order to trick pirates into leaving it alone. The few walls that remain are relatively easy to climb for healthy people. It is not handicap accessible at all. I'm 48 years old and overweight but I had no problems climbing to the top of the walls to enjoy an awesome view of the ocean.

Like I said, if you can find it on your own, there is no charge to enjoy this site. But you will find it more fun to visit as part of a tour.

We were able to get there in a rental car. The road is not paved and you do need to watch for sharp rocks. The ruins are interesting to see but the plaque doesn’t give a lot of information. The area around the ruins are nice and make the trip worthwhile.

The ruins are a self paced tour and set over great views. We went during a tour so there were quite a few people visiting at the same time, but there was still plenty of room to walk around. Make sure you're wearing comfortable shoes as the floors are difficult to traverse otherwise.

A really nice spot to explore around, clicking pictures, with the sounds of the sea and seascape vistas are right there in the foreground
