The smallest drawbridge in the world opens 18" to allow sailboat masts to pass through. This site was a brief stop on Ricky's Island Tour. A definite point of interest simply because of the small size.

This is the smallest drawbridge. Once a year, they raise it and lower it. That way they get to keep their claim to fame, but it really isn't in service. If you blinked, you would miss it as you rode over the big bridge.

We were on our second attempt to cruise to Bermuda: the first time was diverted because of Hurricane Cristobel. On that cruise, we won a copy of a painting of the bridge and we were anxious to visit to take a photo. This year, we...More

It took me second to image how you could ever use a draw bridge so small. This was built for sail boats. Pretty neat when you think about it. Our Taxi Driver Rodwell "Nine Eggs" Wade (441) 734-9982 took us here as part of a...More

Supposedly the smallest drawbridge in the world, Somerset Bridge opens only 18" to let sailboat masts through. All I did at Somerset Bridge was cross it, but I think it's nice that they have preserved this little bridge from the Royal Navy's time in Bermuda.

Hey, but if you find it, you can say that you were on the smallest little drawbridge in the world. Actually, you can't miss it, if you know where it is.

You will want to have a driver show this place off to you. If you take a tour, your sure to cross over it. If you have a friend, you will have the time to get out of the car and check this thing out....More

Our tour guide took us to Somerset Bridge so we could see the smallest draw bridge in the world. Don't go out of your way to see this attraction (?). It does have some neat history as to how it came to be but I...More

Sorry, I know nothing about this incident, but I understood that the bridge is still about the way it always was. A very unique site.
