    Neat historical place
Once you exit the bus, walk up the hill 10 min. Nice gentlemen runs the gift shop ( has drinks, snacks and souvenirs) and tickets at base. $2.50 each to get in. Can climb stairs all the way to top, with landings and some artifacts along the way, go through a tiny door to outside.

If you’re in the area exploring….
We didn’t climb the lighthouse, but hopped off the public bus, hiked up Lighthouse Road and enjoyed the views from the bench at the base. We’ve climbed many a lighthouse worldwide and after the hike up the hill in the mid day sun, thought it best to take a pass. Views from The Queens View are equally breathtaking.

A good climb for some great views of Bermuda
The Gibb's Hill Lighthouse is worth an hour of your time. It is located at the Henry VIII restaurant stop on the bus route, so it is very easy to get to. From the stop, it is a 15 minute walk (somewhat uphill) to the lighthouse. There are bathrooms and a little gift shop at the base on the lighthouse. Tickets were $2.50. You can climb the stairs to the top of the lighthouse and view most the island from either the inside or the outside. We visited on a windy day and the outside view was exciting! A note of caution. The lighthouse was built in the 1840s and it is made of cast iron. So, the inside is a bit warm and stuffy. My wife and I are in pretty good shape and we were pretty sweaty by the time we reached the top. The lighthouse is obviously not accessible if you have mobility problems.

Beautiful Scenic View even from the Base of the Lighthouse
As part of a cruise ship vacation to Bermuda my wife and I booked a minibus excursion tour which offered a 15 min stopover at the Gibbs Hill Lighthouse to sightsee, shop and take a bathroom break. There is a small gift shop within the base of the lighthouse that advertises “lowest prices for souvenirs on the island”. For the price of $2.50 you can climb a 185-step spiral staircase within the lighthouse for a grand view of the island from 117 feet up. My wife and I did not brave the walk up to the top of the lighthouse, especially since we only had 15 mins. But Gibbs Hill already provides a beautiful, impressive scenic view of the island and ocean from the base of the lighthouse without the climb. We were even able to see our cruise ship docked at the Royal Naval Dockyard without climbing to the top lighthouse. A few more adventurous passengers on the minibus did climb to the top and make it back in time. They took some great videos from up there but were quite winded from the hike on their return.

Nice old lighthouse. $2.50 per person to walk up the 187 or so fairly narrow stairs. A number of resting points in the way up if needed. Wish the glass was more clean for photos at the top.

We took a tour of the island by ourselves and this was a MUST see, as I love lighthouses. It didn’t disappoint! 188 stairs up and the view was everything! Even at the bottom the view of Bermuda was incredible. They had a wonderful gift shop and great staff!

Unique lighthouse with beautiful, panoramic views. They also have a small gift shop with some of the best prices on souvenirs on the island.

Been to Bermuda three times in past 30 years and have visited this all 3 times. Easy climb and great views of Hamilton and Soth end beaches. Minutes from Horseshoe Bay and can pick up rail trail nearby.

Walked 10 mins from hotel we were staying in, there’s a couple ways to get there we took the fastest route however a bit steep on hill and south road doesn’t have sidewalks so careful on cars passing by, wonderful views from the lighthouse you can see the ships from dockyard and other Bermuda towns, beautiful on a clear day, bit windy this morning so didn’t climb steps but stepped inside

Our tour guide only allowed a few minutes to walk around the lighthouse but the views were panoramic. This is a must visit location being the highest point in Bermuda.
The lighthouse itself is a wonder of 1844 cast iron engineering the oldest in the world at 120Feet. Did not visit any other locations on site.
