Nice shops with a unique gifts

Most shops were open and owners were very nice and helpful. My favorite was Aziphos Creations, beautiful handcrafted jewelry which i purchased for myself and gifts!

We are into our craft work and so were very disappointed when we went to Pelican to find most of the places were shut and the ones that were open just had the usual touristy things that could be found anywhere on the island. Dont waste your time here, and try to get to Earthworks or Batik where you can... More

We walked north from the Parliament building in Bridgetown to get to this "village" of small shops (about 1/2 mile). The walk can be very hot, depending on the time of day. Most (not all) of the small shops have locally hand-made, non-mass-produced art and crafts for sale. If you take the time to talk to the vendors, you will... More

Adverts suggested this was the first destination of cruise ship visitors, to see the best of Barbados' arts and crafts. Not sure whether simply "closed because it was Thursday" - not mentioned in any advertising but one shop had a sign out saying it was closed on a Thursday - or generally out of season so no-one around, but at... If you want to meet some of the nicest local artists and shop keepers, go to Pelican Craft Center. this is the place to find locally made souveniers. This is a little "outdoor mall" featuring many different kinds of shops. I went to the Monkey Pot and bought some beautiful local pottery, made by Maggie Bell. I also visited the... More

I was interested in going to Pelican Craft Center. It is just a short walk outside of the cruise port. It is clean and has great potential but unfortunately when we visited there was little to see as many of the shops are vacant or closed. It is fairly large but had little to hold our interest with only a... More

I walked here from the marina in Bridgetown and it was quite a walk. I was disappointed when I arrived as there was not much there. What was there was great but I would not make it a destination again.

Very interesting crafts and a perfect place to buy gifts. There is limited on site parking. The place is very quiet as a rule and most of the cruise liners passengers tend to pass by on the other side of the road. Its worth crossing the road to view whats on offer

Roslyn Watson is my new favorite shopkeeper and artist in Bridgetown, Barbados! Her shop has everything you need for your trip as well as treasures to take home. She offers bajan music CDs, hats, t-shirts, local art, photos, jewelry, wind chimes, fans, placemats, local candies and much more!

Located between the port and down town, it is the first and last stop for cruise ship passengers walking into Bridgetown. Unfortunately only a few of the business were open and not really souvenirs shops, they had great art and craft goods but not what we were looking for. It was clean and tied but void of people, would also... More
