Saw this on an excursion with Royal Caribbean. Bonaire Highlights. That was a great excursion! Great guide! Learned a lot about the island and history! The salt flats are actually very pretty. Starting with just sea water and moving to the next fields that start...More

We rented a golf cart and drove around the island in a day. The south coast boasts this unusual sight, with the pink lake and mountains of salt on one side of the road and the bright blue ocean on the other side! Very interesting...More

It looks like snow when you see the salt-mountains. And the lake next to it is pink. The pink color is supposed t be there because of the bacterias in the lake. We think the word spectacular is good about this place. Mske sure to...More

Clearly visible from the road, we visited while on a ship's tour. Unusual to see. One of the few places producing salt like this, it is a main export of the island. Quite fascinating, but you don't need to spend long here.

We had a golf cart rental and wanted to see the Salt Flats. It wasn't very far from the cruise port. About 15-20mins. It was well worth seeing. By using the sun, wind and time the seawater turns into salt. Great place for photo ops...More

We drove by and stopped along the salt flats on our self guided tour by golf cart. Very interesting to see. If you are Bonaire - the island is so tiny - this is something worth driving by to see. They were still mining salt.

On our tour of Bonaire, we visited the salt flats. Our tour guide educated us on the steps of creating the flats and explained the difference between the white salt and pink salt. We got the chance to see the slave huts that were used...More

The colours are incredible. The fields in varying pink tones on one side and the turquoise to deep blue sea on the other side, the sky and clouds, the heaps of salt - it’s amazing. But to capture it on a picture isn’t that easy....More
