Havana particularly the old town is a shock. Delapidated and derelict buildings line the way to the main plazas in the old town. It can be intimidating. However as you get used to the place you realise that perversely this is part of the character of the city. You will also realise that this city is one of the safest... More

I ha been there for at least five times now and never get tired of it, one of the things that I like the most is the fact that they conserve a lot of traditional and hitorical buildings at they were. It is also true that private constructions are not well conserved but historical monuments are just beautifull,

Stroll the streets of Old Havana and step back in time. Dozens of awesome little shops and cafes. Inexpensive food and drinks and live music EVERYWHERE! Have a few cocktails and dance in the streets!

Awesome architecture brimming with history. Our tour guide Lionel was invaluable, he is a linguist-spoke many languages very well and fluently. Had many interesting stories about the mafia and where they lived before the revolution. Went to revolution square where many of the old cars were parked. Told us about the six hour speech Fidel made there. Cubans are now... More

Habana Vieja is the real heart of Havana. Full of art and history. Go there during the day as all the shops are open and restaurants too.

You can see the aftermath of the embargo in all of Cuba, but it really stands out in this part of town if you're not planning to venture much outside of the main tourist attractions in Havana. Visit before the gentrification process begins. There are also some quaint cafes and restaurants hidden in some corners.

We prepaid for the bus tour from our hotel in Varadero to Havana. The round trip included a four hour bus ride of a ten hour tour. This included a lunch break of well over an hour plus an hour and a half free time to shop. The tour began with a drive through of New Havana stopping twice for... More
