Wonderful Building...

This is a striking building and a fitting centre piece to the area. Very busy during the day as students hurry to and fro to their classes....

We arrived in cuba just a few days before the death of fidel castro and visited the university before and after his death. It is one of the most important places regarding the cuban revolution. A lot of history inside!

This is not necessarily a destination, but the beautiful Art Deco buildings make it a beautiful place for photos and the shade make it a good respite from the heat.

was not sure if school was not in session, but it was very quiet. Cool buildings, but some are rundown or abandoned. Alma Mater statue is cool and has neat view of Havana

Just take a minute to look at the surrounding architecture and the purpose for this location. It makes sense and worth the trip.

Beautiful place and nice architecture. It looks like other universities in Latin-America, but it is a must-see place when going to Havana.

As you approach the entrance to the University of Havana, you have the many steps to walk up to the campus. Interesting history, as Fidel Castro was a law student here in 1945 and it was here that he entered the world of political activism.

Covers a large area, didn`t get to go inside but external view was impressive. Also passed by a very large, fairly modern building which our tour guide advised was student accommodation. Very much improved on much of accommodation around this amazing city.

We walked the many steps to the top, the view is down to the waterfront. While walking, we met a history professor and he gave us a short private tour of historical areas of the interior. Stunning views, architecture and history.

We spent a good half hour walking this campus on a beautiful sunny day last week. The buildings and grounds are very well-kept. Within walking distance of the malecon. Worth a visit!
