stopped by the cathedral in Havana during our walking tour of the old town.Impressive structure from the outside and typically ornate Catholic interior.

Most cathedrals around Latin America and southern Europe are pretty much the same . and the Havana one is no different. Nevertheless one cannot visit Havana without popping in to see its cathedral

Quite photogenic, but in the final analysis, it is another cathedral. Beautiful stone work, but was closed the day we were in the area so we did not get to see the interior.

A wonderful building and we watched a large group doing some musical event inside. An enjoyable part of our day.

As the major church in a former Spanish colony the cathedral is rather plain. However, certainly worth a visit. Make sure to wear knees and shoulders covered!

Nice old Cathedral at the Havana Vieja (old city) close to Obisco street. From here you can go towards Plaza Vieja

The old colonial power is well-demonstrated in the style of the church buildings and their positioning. This cathedral is an imposing building occupying one side of the plaza. There was a good attendance of worshippers there when we visited.

Its not like any other church because it is really old and look a bit run down on the outside, but is beautiful inside.
