It is almost unbelievable that such an impressive memorial park exists and it is very nearly daunting to visit, feel and then enjoy the atmosphere of this immaculate place of remembrance which also has Fidel Castro’s monument.

Surprised by the simplicity of one very large boulder with just "Fidel" on it, whereas the monument of Jose Marti was quite extravagant and had several unique features. Marble on walkways and many monuments. Our guide told us how the poor had to be buried in the back, and the process was rather upsetting.

This is Fidels last resting place, just next to the impressive Jose Marti monument, which just add to the attraction of this place. The whole cemetery is uniquely beautifull, and the change of guards is quite a spectacle.

She also told us history of Cuba and Santiago. We got to see the change of the guard to Fidel and Martin's Graves. The cemetery is beautiful with its... More

We visited the grave of Castro and the grounds were absolutely gorgeous. Castro's grave wasn't as nice as I expected it to be but still beautiful.

In this cemetery you can visit Fidel and Jose Marti tombs. Cemetery is very well preserved and a place to take a look if you are in Santiago de Cuba. The best part? The change of soldiers every half an hour. This is a must see while you are there!!

Not only do you have the graves of Marti and Castro but the whole ambience of the place is special. Do not miss the changing of the honour guard.

This cemetery had beautiful graves of marble with attractive statues. However since Fidel Castro is buried there it can be a hassle to get in.
