this is a fascinating experience. Enterprising, mainly men come from Venezuela to sell fruit and vegetables here. When you take a good look at their boats, you realize very quickly that those "seafaring" men have more guts then good sense. But here they are, coming across the ocean to sell wonderful fresh goods. A MUST see in Willemstad

Wander around this charming area. Full of character & interesting little streets. You can cross by the bridge or by the free ferry from each side.

Same old shops seemed dirty and run down. The old fort area was nice to see. There were lots of the shops but nothing for great souvenirs. Either dollar store crap or expensive jewelry stores smithing in the middle. Bonaire shopping was much better.

Really, the attraction here for us was the beautiful views of the area with the colorful buildings and walking the pontoon bridge. You won't find great deals at the floating market (Centrum Market's prices were similar), but it is worth stopping for the experience and getting some fresh red snapper for the grill. Some touristy shops can be found to... More

Very cute neighborhood with little shops, cafes, and galleries. We enjoyed our walk, with a short stop for a coffee break.

you'll want to visit the bridge, the slave museum, and see the row of dutch houses. Then go eat lunch a the old market center, visit the floating market, hit up the shops and ice cream shops in the cobble stone, buy a souvenir from the street vendors.

We had a walk around this little town and crossed the Queen Elizabeth Bridge which is a floating swing bridge. We sat in a restaurant by the water side and had a few drinks and a recommended local dish for lunch. We watched the bridge open and close many times which was very entertaining. Definitely worth a visit.

WHETHER it is visiting the Curacao or Dushi sign or crossing the floating bridge at any tine day or night, what a marvelous venue. The shopping especially for something special is gratifying when you can peruse with local artists or seek advice from actual shop owners.
