You'll have to hike to the northernmost end of the zona Colonial, but you'll have this site to yourself. Soak up the quiet atmosphere in this residential neighborhood, authentic and real.

Build in the 16 century by the Spanish colony. It is by the city wall and a plaza. You can observe the fortified way the Spanish colonies use to have to defend from the British and Pirates invasions.

Magnificent show of colonial architecture. If you're a fan of History, architecture and especially colonial architecture and you're in Santo Domingo, don't miss this.

This is an often over looked church as it is dwarfed by everything surrounding it. Not the same caliber as a cathedral but this church has significant historical value and is worth seeing. The church bells came from a monastery in San Francisco.
