It’s free and the curator was very informative, also had beautiful pieces in their collection. The prices in the gift shop were a touch high but they were open to bartering

We went there as part of our bus tour of the city and ended up buying a ring which looks nice enough for my wife. I don't mind stimulating the economy in places we visit, and it was a decent experience but nothing I'd recommend.

Very informative. Great examples on display. Fascinating what has been captured in the amber and how it is formed. So pretty!

They have a lot of amazing pieces of amber in the museum. Very interesting to see but lacks excitement. Could have better lighting perhaps some music?

This was a couple minute stop in the city tour we took. It was interesting to see the amber, but not worth a trip in and of itself.

We went there as part of the city tour. I am glad I didn't pay for this on it's own. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

It is in Old Puerto Plata near the Cathedral. It is a fair distance from Playa Dorado. Can't say for sure how far but you cannot walk. Sorry I do not know more. We had a car and drove in from Sosua.
