We picked Monster truck becuase we read a lot of great reviews and we saw this Thomson's ad about it. It looked like a fun day out and gave as an opportunity to leave the resort. It wasn't what we expected...we expected a lot more given what we paid ($99 each) and all the good reviews we read. Although it... More

Since doing the Monster Truck Safari my husband has not stopped gushing about how much fun he had in the Dominican Republic! I booked directly off their website and it cost $90/person--well worth the money. We were picked up at our hotel and driven down the street to the Monster Trucks--which are huge trucks. It was a nice clear day... More

The Monster Truck costs us $95 each through Thomson. We were picked up from our hotel and dropped off at the Monster Truck centre. Note that we were in the Iberostar Costa Dorada so it was only a 5 minute trip for us, some people had a LONG drive (considering we headed back from the Monster Truck centre towards Sousua... More

The monster truck safari is without doubt one of the best vacation excurisons you can get in Puerto Plata (departures from Playa Dorada, Cabarette & Sosua too). You get to ride for a whole day, aboard a huge 8-axle zebra-painted former millitary truck. The truck accomodates about 25 passengers and you have a guide, a driver and an on-boarad bar-tender!... Like the other reviewers on this site, we had a truly fantastic experience of the actual safari itself. The transport to the Trucks site was by lovely air conditioned coach and the guide stopped off at a little shopping plaza on the way for 10 minutes. His speciality was telling us that this would be a 'special day'... Once there,... More

This is a great experience, definitely worth getting away from the resort for a day. If you plan to go, be aware that you will see real people, some of whom are relatively well off, but others live in very poor conditions. Many of our fellow guests were quite distressed by the poverty. If you want to help, have a... More

This was an awsome full day excursion! Our guide Arnie was very friendly and chalk full of information about the history and culture of the Dominican and it's people. The cold beverages (rum, beer, pop and water) were a plenty all day and the lunch was fabulous!! (Almost better than the resort food!) It was a real eye opener to... More

Hi there, I have been on this trip several times and loved it each and every time. Meeting the people on this trip really opened my eyes to the state that other people live in that is so different from so many in the US and Canada. I since have returned from 3 years volunteering with the Peace Corps which... More

This monster truck tour was awsome, Our guide for the trip was a nice guy who we called Arnie. Although it poured with rain he made every part of the day a pleasure. The food was great and the beer was flowing freely (and never ran out). Brilliant day for anyone thinking of doing it. Don't forget to take some... More
