Design inspired by the shape of a barrel, with an interior courtyard. Located in the Ron Barcelo production plant site, where officially aging warehouses are identified with number 50. First of its kind in the country made straight from sugar cane juice. Created for visitors to learn more about ancient and modern procedures used to create an excellent rum. At the Historic Center you can admire Ron Barcelo processes that are carried out daily: aging, blending and packaging.

Junior was our tour guide. We arrived about 25 minutes late due to a combination of traffic and taking the long GPS route. Not a problem being late and the tour was totally awesome. We saw the entire process from storage until bottling/shipping. About one...More

A really interesting tour about the history and method of producing rum from Dominican sugar cane. Covers everything from harvesting to distilling and ageing to bottling. Really good.

I'm a bit confused some reviews say you do get to tour the factory others say you don't & just watch a video. I guess for hygiene reasons there would be restrictions but I am hoping to see some live production even if from a distance.

We were able to see production through windows on a walkway before the museum/video.
