If you have a chance I would definitely recommend making this trip. It is from 9-4:30. Speed boat out to the island. Stopped in the most beautiful crystal clear water I have ever seen. Many starfish. Then on to the island for a grill out lunch, rum, beer and dancing. Beautiful island to explore. Pictures are gorgeous. Back to the... More

So we booked it through the hotel, a little pricey around €130each if i remember. That includes: Transport there and back, catamaran, as many drinks as you like, food, bbq on beach and waited services on beach. To be fair, when you think of it, its a fair price the great day out. Travel - around 1 hour in the... More

A group of my family and friends-- 16 in total visited this island for a day. There were 5 scuba divers in our group that met us out there while the rest of us took a large boat to the island. Four of us snorkeled as we were going out there. Ok snorkeling-- island was fun though with good beaches,... More

We got on a small boat that ferried us out to a catamaran, then it was a nice trip sailing down to a beach across from Saona island. We got some rum and dancing to pass the time. We disembarked on a nice beach where they fed us some dried out chicken and fish along with some tasty rice. Fortunately... More

We were picked up at our hotel where wr went to meet up with our primary buss. Our tour guide Carlos was so informative, it was amazing. We traveled to a port, where we took shuttle boats to the catamaran. We snokled for a half hour, then went to swim with the starfish. A short sail later, we arrived for... More

To start off, you are on a bus from Punta Cana for 90 minutes to the marina. BUMMER. It took FOREVER, which you aren't told when booking. Next, we got on a speedboat and headed to the blue lagoon to swim with starfish. Frankly, this was the best part of the trip. The starfish were beautiful, they kept the rum... More

The island of Saona is NOTHING like the what the holiday reps say it is. You pay a lot of money ($540 for 2 adults & 2 kids) for a 90 minute coach trip, to be taken on a very long catamaran journey to an island where you can smell the sewage before you even get there. Upon your arrival... More

From the minute you are herded onto the catamaran it is a rip off. $5 for a headband, $50 for photos and a video. 'Lunch' on board was a quarter of a sandwich and one piece of fruit on a stick. Cheap fruit punch and soda only. When you stop off to view starfish you are one of many such... More

This is a must do excursion. The beach is gorgeous. The catemaran ride is nice, the speed boat is great and the stop at the sand pool is amazing to see the starfish. A great day !
