We enjoyed zip lining and monkey land more than any other excursion that we did. The tutorial on how they process coffee beans and cocoa was entertaining and informative. The monkeys were the best part. They're so cute when they jump on you and sit on your head. I'd love to go back there again

We ( party of 8 ages 16 to 85) booked this Zipline excursion at the Hard Rock Hotel. We were the last pickup on the bus route and it took almost 1 hour to reach the ziplining site and return to the hotel. We were impressed with the safety precautions. Staff fitted the harnesses to fit snugly and a second staff member checked each persons' harness to make sure it was correctly fitted. There was a safety and rule briefing to the whole group--ours had about 25 people--before the photographer took groups pictures. You needed to indicate before starting if you wanted pictures because there were no automatic pictures. The photographer puts a piece of black tape on the helmets of the people wanting pictures. Then he moves from station to station taking pictures of riders with the black tape. Obviously, there is a difference in the number of still shots allotted to each person. Our group averaged 8 shots per person while zip lining on various lines. For our group of 8, the charge was $100 for a zip drive--however, we received a backup CD also. The zip drive we got didn't work, so the CD was crucial. I was able to download it and scroll through all 500 pictures for our 8 people. All of the riders in each group are included on the same zip drive or CD. You have to go through all of them to get your group's pictures. Many of the pictures came out well and I was glad that we signed up for them. Remember to smile at the photographer as you zip by. My daughter took her cell phone in a small bag that attached around her waist and she got some nice ground shots of our group. The zip lines were a lot of fun--some were quite fast and beautiful scenery accompanied them. Most of the staff members at the stations were very nice. They made cute comments and kept asking if we were having fun. Several were pretty sour faced and had nothing to say. Some of the trails between the stations were hilly, but my79 years and my 85 year old husband were able to negotiate the trails. Following the zip lining, riders are served a fruit plate and a drink. We were in the early morning group, so we devoured the fruit and found it pretty good. Then the whole group is ushered into a small outdoor room with rows of wooden benches and given background on making coffee from beans, and a second product--both of which you can buy right there. No one in our group of 8 purchased anything, but several people in the rest of our group made purchases. There are bathrooms at the site which are quite useable--go before you get to the zip lines, because there is no stopping between stations. On the CD I noticed that some people in the group used the Superman mode of zip lining and also were on a second adventure of jumping off a tall tower with bungee type gear. Both looked perfectly safe, so if you are into these activities, you need to tell the leader your wishes before you begin. Our extended family has zip lined for many years in many foreign destinations, so the fact that everyone loved this adventure proves it was a positive experience. Something we didn't expect on this adventure was that our grandchildren noticed how families lived along the roadside as we bused to and from the site. It was a lesson in how to respect the lives of others, no matter their poor circumstances. All in all, it was a fruitful and fun morning.
