Beautiful park in the heart of New Kingston. It is opened between 5am and 12am, Closing some days at 11pm

The park is very clean. Good for chilling out, picnicking or exercising.

It was a nice touch seeing busts of all 7 national heroes in the park.

Very clean nicely appointed park with a great exercise trail. Lots of folks exercising around sunset time. Lots of families in the park. Chess tables, ping pong tables, hop scotch lines for playing. Out door gym, bathrooms available. Good historical plaques.

Even during the pandemic the park is clean and vast. Everyone comes here to do their own thing from exercising, for Lyme time, or another purpose for their visit. The grounds are immaculate. The park is well kept and great for family outings.

The park is a tribute to the emancipation of Jamaica. Its truly a peaceful place and quite tranquil. It has a bandshell that has concerts periodically. The grounds are beautiful with flowers and very well kept. A 500m walking path is a nice addition. Be sure to visit Sweetwood Jerk Joint across the street for the best jerk chicken and pork!!

As visitors from the U.S. who are immediately obvious as tourists we received mixed comments about visiting this park that was directly across the street from our hotel. We were told by some that it wouldn't be safe and by others to go ahead.

We settled by going in a group. Even during the workday there were many people present. The landscaping was nice.

We have been in Jamaica for most of the month and are in Kingston right now. Emancipation Park is the quality of and park in the U.S., BUT NICER, it is emaculatiely maintained...beautiful gardens, a wonderful walking, running 500 k track that goes around the park, with lots of people using it! There are plenty of guards present to make you feel safe and a lot of people present. There are placks around to share the historical reference of the park that add to ambiance. Emancipation Park is a must enjoy, in my book!

Emancipation Park is located on Knutsford Blvd., New Kingston, directly across the street from the Pegasus Hotel. This park is fairly new and I enjoy it every time I visit Kingston. Entry is free and it's very clean and safe, with lots of benches where you can enjoy a bit of peace in the big city. There's a jogging/walking path that is used by many locals after work and there's a water fountain in the middle that is lit up with many colors in the evenings. This park is open until 10pm (I believe) and sometimes there are music performances or other events on the stage and in the band shell that are also located within the park. This is a good-size park, it's completely fenced in and has security guards at all times. On the weekends, I love to grab a bite and come here and watch Kingstonians relax with their young children. There are also wash rooms/toilets at the south-west end and they are clean! It's a very lively and beautiful place to visit and sit under a shade tree....oh, and did I mention the wonderful view of the Blue Mountains? You can see them while you sit there and enjoy the park. Also worth noting, is the fact that there is a beautiful water fountain at the south-east end of the park...a strong black man and woman looking towards the sky...definitely worth seeing! I love coming to this spot, it's my oasis in Kingston!
