I was a little concerned after reading some of the reviews however I can tell you that this was the highlight of our trip. You float the river in a bamboo raft. It is so peaceful and relaxing.

It's Jamaica - OSHA and the Coast Guard don't exist. If you feel you can safely manage your child, I highly doubt your raft guide is going to argue the point.
