About
The unique terraced Dunn’s River Falls is a refreshing adventure in the Jamaican jungle. Get a tour guide to help you navigate through the pools and to the giant staircase waterfalls—if the going gets too tough, there are points at which you can give up and walk along the adjacent path. The falls are a popular stop for cruise boats that pass through the area, so if you’re planning on visiting on your own, you’ll want to get there early in the morning for fewer crowds. Afterward, cross the highway and dry off on the golden sand at Dunn’s River Beach. – Tripadvisor

Can't enjoy the beauty with pushy guide and locals.
Climb the falls with a guide was nice. The falls was beautiful but the guide made you keep going so you can't enjoy the beauty. Beware that after the climb they will want to sell the video for $40 and the pictures are separate. As you return to the parking lot, they send you through the local market and everyone begs you to come to their area. Made me VERY uncomfortable. Glad I was with my husband.

Great climb but get rid of the craft market
Great climb but get rid of the gift market they are mean scammers. Putting stuff in people's hands and charging you when you don't want it, shouting st you walking past and being rude if you don't respond. Harassing and rude.

    Amazing experience.
The connection created going up a waterfall with friends and family is amazing. Our tour guide was amazing! It was a little challenging but so worth it.a lot of opportunities for pictures. I would not recommend for young children (under 8-depending on height) , it can get deep and slippery in spots.

    Awesome Falls Climb
Booked an excursion which included Dunn's River Falls. Loved the climb and beauty of the falls - safe for all ages and most mobility levels. Pressure to tip was offside. Our guide counted tips and demanded more if he didn't think a person tipped enough. Upon exit DO NOT talk to the craft market vendors - they are even more high pressure and were rude if you wouldn't stop. Well worth a visit.

    Dunns River triop
Always a good excursion to go on. Guide was great, and had a private ride from our resort. Water shoes and no sunglasses needed for this excursion. They will take pics and videos and sell them for $40 US. We did not get the package. Also checked out Blue Hole while we were out, another 30 minutes into the interior and a 14 or 15ft jump into a raging waterfall, then a jungle jim swing into the water. The current is strong so be a good swimmer, and ditch the water shoes. Mine came off trying to swim to shore.

Beautiful falls. Tip crazy and pushy locals
The falls were beautiful and my experience in the water was great. They should be more open about difficulty of the falls and who can do it. The experience was tainted by the hounding and pushing of the locals to tip and buy items. They try to trick you. Never accept anything from a local that they say is "free". It's a trap. Even the tour guides who were great on the falls were too pushy for tips.

    Touristy but a real highlight
If you want to avoid crowds, don't go on Wednesdays (when cruise ships dock) and go later in the afternoon. It will still be busy, but manageable. Although I saw reviews about people climbing alone, my experience was that everyone was put into a group with a guide upon arrival. No matter - the official guides are helpful and not pushy about tips. I went alone so it was fun to meet people and climb together. It's not challenging or dangerous - just a lot of fun! Be prepared to be soaked as there are optional "dunks" along the way. Lockers are $8 USD (but if you return the key, you get $3 USD back). You can take a route taxi from Ocho Rios or Montego Bay and ask the driver to stop directly by the park entrance. Should only be a few hundred Jamaican dollars. You don't need to use a tour for this.

    AMAZING
This was such a fun experience. It’s $25 per person but this does include a tour guide. You are actually climbing up the waterfall so I would recommend tennis shoes or water shoes. They also sell them there for $10! You get completely wet so definitely need a plastic bag or something if you are bringing anything you don’t want to get wet. Video/pictures of our group was only $40 which I definitely recommend getting! This was amazing

We went as a shore excursion on NCL. We had a good time up the falls and our guide and videographer were great. We purchased the video and photo package for $40 and were very excited to receive it when we got home. Unfortunately, they lost the footage and our physical memory of the trip is gone. They did email us and offered a refund but it can’t bring the photos back.. my recommendation would be to bring your own waterproof camera or dry bag for phone to take your own pictures.

As far as the reviews I’ve seen about the market and vendors, they were very kind and excepted when we said no, they just want to be acknowledged. After all it’s their livelihood.

The falls was really beautiful but at first it was quite daunting. Thanks to our guide Tami, the group I was partnered with made it through. You have to be careful because there are some slippery points and point where it is hard to see the bottom but following the keen wisdom and guidance of your tour guide you will make it through. It's definitely a team activity and our group was really helpful and encouraging as there were people of all ages, sizes and fitness levels. I would put this as a must do if you are in Ocho Rios. I was also quite please with how quick and simple it was to get the photage of my time at the Falls. The final product turned out really good.

Our guide at the Falls (Tammy) was EXCELLENT. Took the time to make sure she took photos of each guest with their own phones. There was no having to pay for photos. She made sure you had plenty of good ones. I would give her 10 stars.

Came here with my wife and two kids (7&4) as part of a Disney cruise excursion. We loved it! The falls were gorgeous, and the climb was great fun. Our guide, Trevor Williams, was excellent! He was super helpful to our whole group, especially to the kiddos among us! (Attached pic of him carrying our two boys over a deep spot) Nice sense of accomplishment reaching the top, highly recommend! (Note: There’s a pathway with steps next to the falls so you can get the views if the climb is not your thing)

Was reluctant of going, as can’t swim and just sounds like it wouldn’t suit me. But it was a very enjoyable experience, managed to do all the steps to the top. We got our own taxi there and paid $25 (usd) for entrance, and then you can walk around yourself or get a free guide who you can tip at the end.

A lot of arts and crafts on sale there too, clothes, magnets, all sorts.

We had a great experience at Dunn River Falls. We probably didn’t have enough time as part of the tour we went through to experience all it had to offer. We did have the opportunity to climb the falls though which was very worthwhile. Our guide Trevor and videographer Roger were incredible. They made got our group going and made the trip up the falls so much fun!

We didn’t purchase the photos and videos as our tour operator warned us multiple times that if we didn’t get the email link, that it wasn’t for them to deal with so we didn’t risk it.
